KIM LONG MOTOR HUẾ Joint Stock Company and YUCHAI Joint Stock Company officially signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement for engine manufacturing in Vietnam, marking a significant milestone not only for KIM LONG MOTOR but also for the Vietnamese automotive industry. To realize this development strategy, KIM LONG MOTOR and YUCHAI held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the KIM LONG HUE Engine Manufacturing Plant located in the KIM LONG MOTOR HUẾ Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly Industrial Zone, at the Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone, Thua Thien Hue province. For the first time, Vietnam has access to leading advanced technology to proactively produce modern automotive engines and engines for other industries, fulfilling the longstanding dream of many generations of Vietnamese people and contributing to the industrialization and modernization of the country. We are proud that modern MADE-IN-VIETNAM cars bearing the KIM LONG name will travel across the country and to many places worldwide.

The KIM LONG HUE Engine Manufacturing Plant has a total investment of 260 million USD, divided into two phases. Phase 1 focuses on the production of automotive industry engines and is expected to commence operations in early Q2 2025, with automation reaching up to 90%. The plant will offer a wide range of engines: for automotive production, marine engines, generator engines, agricultural production engines, and engines for civil construction equipment. Initially, the plant will prioritize the production and assembly of internal combustion engines (Diesel), CNG engines, and electric engines with a capacity of over 12,000 engines annually, with production expected to increase in subsequent years. The next phase will focus on producing axles, transmissions, and drivetrains.

The plant's products will meet the production needs of KIM LONG MOTOR, serving the domestic market and aiming for exports to the ASEAN region, South Korea, and other markets. This forms a solid foundation for KIM LONG MOTOR to increase technological content and localization, gradually integrating more deeply into the global supply chain.

This is a critical step for KIM LONG MOTOR in contributing to the Party and State's policies, including Central Resolution 29 and Politburo Resolution 13 on promoting industrialization and modernization, Politburo Resolution 52 on policies to actively engage in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and Politburo Resolution 23 on national industrial development policy orientation.

Moreover, it contributes to implementing Politburo Resolution 54-NQ/TW dated December 10, 2019, on "Building and developing Thua Thien Hue province by 2030, with a vision to 2045," aiming to develop Thua Thien Hue as a centrally governed city, emphasizing cultural heritage, ecology, environmental friendliness, and smart technology. Tourism is a spearhead sector, information technology a breakthrough, and high-tech industry and agriculture are foundational.

The KIM LONG HUE Engine Manufacturing Plant, together with a large-scale mechanical stamping plant and KIM LONG MOTOR's auxiliary technology factories, is expected to create a breakthrough in production technology, increase technological content, and, most importantly, master automotive manufacturing technology in Vietnam. This affirms KIM LONG MOTOR's leading position in the Vietnamese and global automotive markets and contributes positively to the growth of the Vietnamese automotive industry.

On this occasion, KIM LONG MOTOR officially introduces the new generation KIMLONG 99 sleeper bus with the new YUCHAI K11 engine. This is the result of thousands of hours of research and development by a team of young Vietnamese engineers living and working in the KIM LONG MOTOR HUẾ automotive manufacturing and assembly industrial zone.

Design: The KIM LONG 99 bus draws inspiration from the image of the "Sacred Dragon," symbolizing cultural and spiritual value, representing "Strength - Majesty - Prosperity."

Meaning: The name KIM LONG harmonizes the letter "K" for KIM LONG with "V" for VIETNAM. The number 99 symbolizes luck, prosperity, and success. KIMLONG 99 conveys a message of buses connecting all regions of Vietnam, embodying the spirit of Vietnamese patriotism and positioning KIM LONG MOTOR as a leading player in the domestic commercial vehicle market, contributing to elevating Vietnam's automotive industry on a global scale.

Product: The KIMLONG 99 bus utilizes advanced technology, including a monocoque (integrated body and chassis) design suited for all operating conditions in Vietnam, reducing vehicle weight, saving fuel, and enhancing load-bearing capacity and safety.

The combination of the new-generation YUCHAI K11 engine, FAST 6-speed transmission (USA), Fangsheng drive axle, and Dymos axle (South Korea) creates a "Golden" powertrain:

• The YUCHAI K11 new-generation engine, with a displacement of 10,979 cc and 410 Ps power, produces maximum torque of 1,000~1,400/2,100 N.m/rpm, delivering strong performance and fuel savings compared to engines in the same class.
• FAST 6-speed (USA) transmission with pneumatic assistance provides stable operation and easy handling.
• The pneumatic suspension system with two air bags in the front and four in the rear ensures smooth operation.
• Premium aluminum alloy wheels, MICHELIN tires, and a dual-line pneumatic braking system with anti-lock braking system (ABS) and TERCA (Spain) electric brakes enhance safety.

The KIMLONG 99 bus is available in three versions: Deluxe, Luxury, and Premium (24 and 34 berths). The interiors are luxuriously designed, offering many high-end amenities to meet customer demands and business operations.

The YUCHAI K11 engine has been tested extensively on sleeper buses across diverse terrain, showing fuel consumption up to 5-6 liters per 100 km less than existing engines on similar vehicles, helping transport companies optimize operating costs and reducing service costs, creating positive value for the community and society."

Following the launch event, KIM LONG MOTOR and YUCHAI delivered the first batch of 60 KIMLONG 99 sleeper buses as part of a contract for 600 units from three major clients: FUTA Bus Lines, Ha Son Company, and Tan Phat Dat Company in 2024.
