KIM LONG MOTOR OFFICIALLY ROLLS OUT ITS FIRST ENGINES AT THE YUCHAI ENGINE MANUFACTURING PLANT

The engines are produced on a modern production line with up to 90% automation and strict quality control processes following YUCHAI Group’s technical standards. Among them, the new-generation YUCHAI K11 engine—currently equipped on KIMLONG 99 sleeper and seated buses—has been highly praised by transport businesses for its powerful, stable performance and impressive fuel consumption of only 19–22 liters per 100 km. Since its launch, the K11 engine used in KIMLONG 99 buses has reached over 2,000 units delivered to customers and partners, affirming the strong reputation and superior manufacturing capability of KIM LONG MOTOR.

Continuing this success, the YUCHAI Y24 engine was officially unveiled at the rollout event. With a displacement of 2,360 cc and an output of 110Ps, this engine is optimized for flexible, powerful, and fuel-efficient transportation, laying the foundation for KIM LONG’s upcoming new-generation minibus and light-truck product lines. This is a significant step on the journey toward technological independence and realizing the goal of bringing internationally standardized “Made in Vietnam” automobiles further into the global market.

Alongside the new-generation YUCHAI K11 and YUCHAI Y24 engines, the plant will continue expanding its product portfolio by manufacturing additional engine models such as YUCHAI A07N, YUCHAI S04, YUCHAI S07, and YUCHAI K12L to support KIM LONG MOTOR’s commercial vehicle production and assembly activities.

The introduction of the YUCHAI K11 and YUCHAI Y24 engines opens opportunities to upgrade the product lineup and expand market share in rapidly growing segments. With a capacity of more than 40,000 engines per year—equivalent to one engine every three minutes—and a production process strictly following international standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), and IATF 16949 (International Automotive Quality Management System), the plant provides a solid foundation for product quality.

The YUCHAI Engine Manufacturing Plant will not only meet KIM LONG MOTOR’s internal production demand and serve the domestic market but also aim for export to ASEAN countries and South Korea, gradually integrating more deeply into the global supply chain.

The rollout of the first two engines, YUCHAI K11 and YUCHAI Y24, marks an important starting point and lays the foundation for KIM LONG MOTOR’s long-term development strategy—toward technological autonomy, enhanced localization, and contributing to the advancement of Vietnam’s mechanical and automotive industries.
